Environmental consultancy, geophysical survey and borehole drilling in the Niger Delta

We assess the ground, survey what lies under it and drill for the water in it. Three disciplines, one team, working out of Warri.

About Petrel Environmental Ltd

Petrel Environmental Ltd is an environmental consultancy based in Warri, Delta State, working for oil and gas operators, government agencies, industry and communities across the Niger Delta.

The company was incorporated in 2009 and has traded continuously since, as a limited liability company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC 837928. It works in three closely related disciplines: environmental impact assessment and monitoring, geological and geophysical survey, and borehole drilling.

Those three belong together. The survey that maps the subsurface is the survey that sites the borehole, and the environmental case for a project rests on the same ground data. Working from a single office on NNPC Housing Complex Road also means crews reach most Delta State sites the same day.

Our environmental consultancy, survey and drilling services

Groundwater work usually means three separate appointments: one firm to survey, another to drill, a third to handle the environmental side. Petrel holds all three, so the survey that sites the borehole and the crew that drills it answer to the same project manager. Where a job calls for specialist input we bring it in and manage it, so the deliverable still reaches you as one document from one party.

Environmental consultancy and impact assessment

Environmental impact assessment, baseline and post-impact studies, audits, monitoring programmes and remediation planning, scoped to the standard the receiving regulator expects.

Geological and geophysical survey

Desk study, electrical resistivity, seismic refraction and ground magnetic survey to characterise the subsurface before anyone breaks ground, whether the question is aquifer depth, foundation conditions or pipeline routing.

Borehole drilling

Industrial, commercial and community water boreholes, from siting and drilling through casing, gravel packing and development to pumping test and handover. The team that picks the point is the team that proves the yield.

Why operators across Delta State choose Petrel Environmental

17 years

On one register, without a gap

Incorporated in 2009 as RC 837928 and trading continuously since. The company that signs the contract is the one still standing at handover.

Limited by shares

A company, not a business name

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a limited liability company. Contracts, guarantees and liabilities sit with the company, which is what a procurement file has to show.

Based in Warri

Not flown in for the mobilisation

Our office is on NNPC Housing Complex Road. Crews reach most Delta State sites the same day, so a call-out does not begin with a flight.

One contract

Three disciplines, one project manager

Environmental assessment, geophysical survey and borehole drilling under a single scope, with no gaps between appointments for problems to fall into.

Sectors we serve

The work changes shape depending on who is asking, but the disciplines behind it do not.

How we work, from site survey to sign-off

  1. Scope and desk study

We agree what the site actually needs, review existing data and regulatory requirements, and give you a scope and price you can put in front of a budget holder.

  2. Field mobilisation

Crew, equipment and permits go to site under your HSE regime, with a named project manager who stays on the job from mobilisation to demobilisation.

  3. Findings and reporting

Field data and survey results are worked up into a report written to be defended, whether the reader is your own engineer or a regulator.

  4. Delivery and close-out

Findings, certificates and borehole completion records are handed over, site is reinstated, and we stay reachable for the questions that arrive after close-out.
